We we're watching A&E this weekend and I saw something cool in there and I remembered I had this program in the dvd boxset. So I pulled it out and did a few screen caps on it and here is what I seen.
(IMG:http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l318/ghst915/STAR_WARS_BONUS_DISC-0.jpg) (IMG:http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l318/ghst915/STAR_WARS_BONUS_DISC-1.jpg) (IMG:http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l318/ghst915/STAR_WARS_BONUS_DISC-2.jpg) How would like to have a closet like that behind the scout? Also looks like Lucas is telling them to add the bicip armor too or he's telling them the vest sleeve is a little long and it covers up the bicip armor. I looked and looked for more shots like these but nothing came up. I was hopeing to come across one of a scout with out his bucket on but no such luck. Does give a good look at the back plate with out the hump. |

Is this on the extra's disc for the original trilogy set?
Great find! GREAT to see the back without the tank on it. -fk |

Great shots!!! Man look at the shelves. I wish my local supermarket would have such a great assortment. Are there more sequences of this scene?

Nice behind the scenes shots. I've seen these pictures before, unfortunately, what you see is what you get. There is no more to this sequence than what you have seen-- at least, none publicly released.

Sorry but no there is no more to this scene. It only last about 30 seconds or so not very long, but its still cool to see this. Maybe next year we'll get more with the 30th Anv. dvd complete box set coming out.

Yeah, that ten disc Darth Vader metal case box set? Now with BluRay technology?
(IMG:http://forum.bikerscout.net/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I remember the rumors flying around after the ep III dvd release, about a HUGE Star Wars Anthology Box set. If it were only true. So, neck seal or no neck seal...Hmmmm. I'm leaning towards no neck seal and a balaclava?

Yes I know this is a very old post and is in the gallery but after looking at the pics again , I have a theory what GL is really looking at. The length of the sleeve is too long, in the top pic they are folding the sleeve up to a better length, the sleeve doesn't have a seam in the movie but in the bottom pic the long sleeve looks like it had until it was folded up on itself . this may also be why the sleeves look a bit padded and pust the shoulder bells out more, possibly?

That's what I've always thought, that it was just a rolled up sleeve.

If I remember from the video, this scene was during the final hash out getting the concept nailed down. If you noticed during the scene, there is no bicep armor and no tank on the back. |

I'm also seeing the hard codplate and outer-thigh plates, as in the drawing. Cool. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

These leg armor pieces are also present in one of the shots in the illustrated guide.
I can upload the picture later. |

That's much higher quality than the previous versions of this picture I've seen. I can really see the alterations yet to be made to finish it. This must also be where Don Post got their "notched" rear stripes from, since they never appeared on any on-screen helmet.
I love the Stormtrooper shoulders, too. *heh* --Jonah |

I'm not sure what you mean....the "grills" have been there also on screen!
image taken back.. EDIT* OK, I understood what you mean. There is a shot of the Guy who arrests Leia that seem to have a small chip at one of the bottom strips though. (IMG:http://www.madphisto.net/arrestscene.jpg) It might be damage though |

Right. I've seen chips in the on-screen helmets' decals, which are undoubtedly due to the rigours of filming. But I had never seen any Scout on screen that had that exact variation, which ended up being on the Don Post helmets. I'd always figured they did it themselves for some unknown reason, but with it showing up on one of the early costume test helmets, I have a clearer idea now of where they might have gotten their cue.
I'm pretty sure this version came before the one further above where George is inspecting. --Jonah |
