Hi Scouts,
My first post here, believe it or not! I was just looking at page 106 of "From Star Wars to Indiana Jones: The Best of the Lucasfilm Archives" by Mark Cotta Vaz and Shinji Hata. On page 106, there's a production illustration of a Biker Scout with a few notes written to the side. One of them, pointing to the boots, says "Sorel Snow Cat 16". Since 16 seems too large for a size (maybe non-US size?), perhaps it's a model number. Sorel is still in business today, and they still have a model called Snow Cat, but it doesn't look quite like the Biker Scout boots we are familiar with. Perhaps a vintage Sorel Snow Cat is what we're looking for. Just thought I'd pass this along since I hadn't seen it elsewhere. Keep up the speedin' troops! |

The "sierra sneakers" is not the name of the boot but the style. I have tracked down some leads for getting the circa 1980 boot and will get back to everyone asap. Hey BSN I have just recently started looking into the scout for my wife and myself so I am not to sure about the whole costume, checking this thread out and I seen what Treehuggerscout wrote above and knew I have seen that name elsewhere I went looking again. This is a link to the Sierra Sneaker I seen before Sierra Sneaker Not to sure if this is the same but with a little modding of the sole it seems to me to be close. |

Hmm, the differences in style is too big to mod it. Just look into the reference gallery
where there is a batch of pictures of a younger version of these boots. You'll see those are completely different. |
